From my collection I have a very good looking EternaMatic caliber 1422UD. The case is in all stainless steel with the desirable hidden crown design. The dial and hands are in excellent condition and all original. The Eterna automatic movements (hence EternaMatic) are known to be some of the finest designed movements of its time. The caliber 1422UD in this watch was also issued as a chronometer grade movement (I own one myself). Case: Very good condition with small signs of careful use.

Hello Everyone. I'm new to this forum and would appreciate any information on this watch.
I found it in a bag of watches given to me by my mother. It has been serviced and except for a new mainspring and strap is to the best of my knowledge completely original. The movement is a 17 jewel caliber 1247T and the movement serial number is 3462220. Serial number on the case back is 33945xx.
It is nearly as accurate as my Rolex and stays within COSC as long as I keep it dial up at night. Seems to be very sensitive to crown down placement with significant time loss. Have not been able to find out much about this specific watch anywhere on line so any information is great. Hope the pictures help. Look forward to hearing from all of you knowledgeable folks. Any ball park figure on what it might be worth?
I seriously doubt that I'm sitting on some priceless sleeper. Now, Eterna isn't in demand - which a few of us find hard to believe because they made their own in-house calibers which set the standard for the industry even through today AND their ball bearing rotor hub setups were just as innovative as IWC's Pellaton winding system and some other important inventions during the golden age of wristwatches (40's through the 60's). Not that I'm a horological scholar, but IMO they were in the top 5 for innovation: I think you used the correct term with 'sleeper' because their vintage pieces might start gaining value in a few years if they get the respect they deserve.

You have a nice early eternamatic. Please don't take offense by this, as it really isn't a big deal and certainly not meant to be, but your watch has been what we call 're-dialed'. That is, the face has been repainted from the original. There are a few telltale signs of this. First, the 5 dots that comprise the logo (and are meant to represent the ball bearings) are uneven and printed on the dial.
Eterna Matic Watches Value
Out of the several thousand eternas i have spent the better part of the last 5 years of my life viewing, i have yet to see an original dial that didn't have the ball bearing logo as raised dots, sorta like braile. Also, the eternamatic font isn't quite the same as when you view a factory dial.
Download suara walet thailand mp3. Now again, this isn't a big deal. In the old days it was a part of a common service if the watchmaker felt the dial was too aged. It can affect value, but, as it has already been noted, eternas aren't setting the world on fire with their rising prices, even though they are tremendously well made watches. Anyway, it's a great thing to have a nice old watch land in your lap. You say it's been serviced recently? I would be concerned if it's losing time in any specific position. Perhaps the watchmaker who did the service would be kind enough to remedy that.
This Eterna came all the way from Norway, and it needs a fair amount of attention! The calibre 12824 is pretty much an ETA2824. It’s not working, so let’s see what’s up! Yes, that looks very much like an ETA2824.
Very snappy date change, and a lovely 28,800 bph movement. With the auto winder taken off, the movement starts beating. If you look closely at the barrel wheel (it’s not a click wheel, as the click is on the crown wheel), you can see missing and damaged teeth.
The damaged wheel. Onwards and upwards. The gear train. When I remove the barrel, I notice that the lid isn’t on. Starting on the bottom plate. And everything is ready for the cleaning machine. Escape wheel, pallet fork and cap jewels after the epilame treatment.
Old and new barrel wheel. And the movement is ticking again. As the old barrel (on top of the movement) kept opening up (so there was a reason why the lid was off when I took the movement apart), I got hold of a used barrel from an ETA2824.
Ready for the dial and hands. The dial is in great shape, and so are the hands. The movement goes back into its case. And the back gets a new gasket. That’s looking pretty good. And that looks even better!Great watch.

Hi Christian, I have a watch with the very similar movement, 12824 is stamped next to the balance, but the auto winding bridge is not jeweled, as expected for cal. In other words it has only 17j, not 25j as other 12824 I have seen. Does your watch have the jeweled winding bridge or not? I looked carefully at your pictures, seems it possibly does not. So it makes me worried about the authenticity of both your watch, and my as well (may be it has the winding bridge from the different caliber) Also my has 044 stamped on the plate, which looks like the internal manufacturing code.
Does your movement have that? Thanks, -Victor.
